Bar Bar Black Sheep Restaurant

Ever been to a place that had all the makings of a great restaurant - magnificent setting, great vibe, funky decor - but just failed to deliver on the food? Well Bar Bar Black Sheep in Riebeek Kasteel falls squarely into this category!

For starters my husband ordered the baked lemons - at a cost of R45, I too could have cut 2 lemons in half and stuffed them with ricotta cheese and a few tomatoes - disappointing to say the least! I had a country cheese and tomato tart which did not taste too bad - just a pity the pastry was so doughy and not light and crisp.

Moving onto the main course... My husband ordered the last fillet in the house which was the worst cut of meat I had ever seen and instead of being served medium as requested, it was served well done! I had the fishcakes which would not have been worthy of a mention if it was not for the spicy pineapple salsa it was served with.

Poor showing indeed!
